Peace Outtttt!!!!

My current status: I am riding in the car down I81 with my brother jammin out with all the windows down and music blaring so loud that the cars beside us are looking at us funny!

Before going home we are stopping at a friends to stay for the weekend. My best friend Ryan Peevey goes to Hampton Sydney which is in Farmville Virginia. I am so excited to see him, I feel like it has been forever since I have been able to hang out with him. He got my brother and I football tickets for tomorrow and then we are going to hang out with some of his friends and his frat brothers.

But I cant wait to get home and see my family!!!!!!!!! Yesterday I had my last class before my Thanksgiving break officially started and it felt like it was my last day at school. I wanted to throw all of my papers in the air with joy! I don't think I have ever been so ready for a break from school work!

I hope all of you have a great break with your family and friends. Relax, breath, and enjoy yourself this week! And remember what you are thankful for this week!

5 things I am thankful for:

1) My friends and family are healthy and happy
2)The grace of God in my life
3) My amazing school VT and my grades
4) The overwhelming love and support I get from my parents
5) My grandmother helping to put me through college

Purple Polka Dotted Panda

I don't really have a specific topic for this blog it is just going to be a few random thoughts. For some reason this week hasn't been that interesting and that is why I think that this blog is a little hard for me today. And the title has nothing to do with this blog I just named it something completely random and off the wall.

I am so ready for Thanksgiving break it isn't even funny! I cannot contain my excitement!!!!! I seriously had a dream of Thanksgiving dinner... that is so sad. I'm ready to see my family, my dogs, and most importantly I am so excited to sleep in my own bed! For Yilin and Tianli I hope you found out what dining hall are open and the bus schedule. Tianli you will probably enjoy the peace and quiet over the break with everybody gone and nobody talking and being extremely loud on your hall so you can study. Yilin you will like the peace and quiet as well so you can watch your Chinese shows :) but I hope y'all find some friends to spend Thanksgiving with though. Hermela I have not started Scandal yet. I plan on starting it over Thanksgiving break. Haha sorry :)

Today I am really going to be testing my running abilities to see if I am ready or this half marathon. When I finish this blog I am going to be running the huckleberry trail which is 12 miles. Wish me luck!

Has anybody else felt like they are napping more than usual? Holy moley I have napped more this week then I have in my whole life. I used to never take naps when I was home and now I feel like I am going to die halfway throughout the day if i don't take a nap. Also, my Netflix has become a serious problem! I don't get anything done when I start watching Netflix. I might have all the intentions in the world to just watch one episode and next thing you know 3-4 hours has past.

Well I'm not really sure what to talk about now... haha. Have fun tomorrow at the last home football game to our freshmen year! And be safe this weekend! See you Monday :)

Yeah... It's safe to say that I have lost my mind

So I have decided to run a half marathon over fall break... yes I am pretty sure I have lost my mind!! But my mom will be running it with me so it will kinda be like a mom and daughter date. I am extremely nervous especially since I only have about 3 weeks to train for this race. This week alone I have ran 26 miles which is a marathon but that was spread out over 7 days. I just don't know if I will be able to run 13 miles at one time without stopping. To tell you the truth I am absolutely terrified that I will not complete it. Naturally I am a great runner, but I am also extremely competitive therefore I know that I will collapse of fatigue before I walk in this race. Which is not good haha. I want to do really well that is why I have been working out like a fool for the past few weeks. I just really hope that my mom and I cross the finish line together and have a great time but at the same time I hope that we both complete it with a good time that we can be proud of.

Wish me luck!!

Minions for life

So Halloween was a success and we pulled off our minion costumes very well. I feel like the whole process of deciding what to be for halloween and going shopping at goodwill to get the parts we needed was great because, it really pulled the three of us girls together. We spent so much time taking pictures together last night and getting ready in my dorm room. We sat around painting each others nails bright yellow  and laughed about everything under the sun. These girls are so beautiful on the outside as they are on the inside and it makes me so happy that we dressed up as something fun and exciting not something sexy. And even thought we didn't have all of our goods hanging out guys still came up to us and complimented us on our outfits and how good we looked. I love those girls to death and I am so happy that I was able to share my first halloween here at VT with them. I wouldn't have traded it for anything.

MINIONS FOR LIFE!!! hahaha

Halloween

I was really curious if y'all celebrated halloween in China or if there was a similar holiday that you celebrated?

Well halloween is one of my favorite holidays it allows you to dress up all crazy and look completely ridiculous for a whole day and it is completely acceptable. Every year when I am home my brother, mom and I would take my little sister out to go tricker treating to all the neighboring houses and to a few subdivisions that are nearby. It was always a great bonding experience for our family because Zach and I were trying to take Zoe to as many houses as possible because we knew if she got a lot of candy she would share with us. My mom would be strategically plan out where we would go and what houses we were going to hit up that gave out the best halloween candy. It was always a great time and I'm kinda bummed that I am going to miss taking her out for the next couple of years.

This year for halloween I am dressing up like a minion from the movie despicable me. It will be me my roommate and the girl that lives across the hall from me. Im super excited :)

Have fun tomorrow at the football game and be safe this weekend!!

Weekend

I am so excited for this weekend. My family is coming up to visit and I cant wait to see them!!!! We went to my brothers rugby game yesterday and I have a new respect for rugby players. The game was super intense and extremely confusing. It was like mixing football with no pads and soccer. There is a bunch of crazy rules that I didn't understand, thank goodness there was a bunch of JV rugby players sitting near me because the whole game they had to tell me what the heck was going on. The VT team is really good they beat Wake forest 73-8! You can hear the players smack together when they hit and it makes everybody in the stands cringe. One of my brothers best friends, Folger, was taken off by an ambulance during the middle of the game. I spoke to him last night and he broke his tibia (shin bone), dislocated his ankle, and tore a bunch of ligaments. He went into surgery this morning at 6am. It was absolutely awful!
After the game, we went out to eat at bull-n-bones. I don't know if any of you have been but it is absolutely amazing! You have to try it before you leave this year. And today they are coming to the game :) Are any of y'all going to the game today?
Well, I hope all of you have a great weekend and be safe!

Linsey= cluts/crip

I swear I am the biggest cluts here at Virginia Tech. I have lost count of how many times I have almost busted my face on this campus. It is really starting to get annoying!! It might just be me but I all of the sidewalks are a little off and the blocks are uneven and it is causing me to trip all the time!!! Also, its causing my cursing vocabulary to increase. Ha

I'm venting about that specific subject but it just happened to me AGAIN as I was entering my dorm building!!! haha

The most eventful that happened to me this week was Wednesday night I had a flag football game and I  was playing linebacker and I was doing really really good! Within our game I collected 10 sacs (which is when you take the quarterbacks flag before they have the chance to throw the ball) well about halfway through the game I dove after the quarterback and took her flag, and landed straight down on my hand. When I got up the tip of my finger was swelling up and there was a little hole where my knuckle is. I thought that I had just jammed my finger because it did hurt when I got up and I jam my fingers all the time playing volleyball. So, I yanked on my finger to "unjam" it and when I did it popped and instantly felt a little better. I was like yayyy I fixed it, so I continued to play the rest of the game. When the game was over I noticed that my finger was twice the size as all my other ones and the whole back side of my finger was turning black. Schiffert Health center was closed so there wasn't anything I could do about it then. I just wrapped it up and went to the J Cole concert anyways. (Did any of y'all go to the concert?) The next day, I went and got it checked out, turns out that I broke and dislocated my finger. During the game when I pulled on it and heard that pop, that was the sound of me putting my finger back in place. Pretty badass. And the doctor said that the reason there is an abnormal amount of bruising is because I must have busted a blood vessel when I put my finger back. If you look at my finger right now the back of it and the tip is completely black/purple/green. Looks pretty nasty.

P.S. We won our football game and it is our first victory of the season!!! Whoop Whoop!!

Exams Suck

So I just want to apologize for missing my last blog, honestly I just completely forgot and had a ton of other homework to do. The past 2 weeks have possible been the most stressful weeks of my life I have not been to bed before 3 for about 2 weeks. All of my hard classes decided to have their exams all in the same week and it has been brutal. I's so excited to catch up on some sleep this weekend!! And to top it all off I studied for hours upon hours and still did not do good on my exams. I must have been nervous or something, but its kinda a bummer when you put so much effort into something to get a bad outcome.
But enough complaining...
I don't know if all of you watched the game last night but we WON!! Yayyy GO HOKIES!! I had a great time last night, a bunch of girls in my hall came into my room and we all laid on the floor with ton of pillows and blankets and ate popcorn and just talked while watching the game. It was nice to finally relax and not think about school for a little while.
I hope you all have a great weekend and be safe!
See you monday! :)

To my lovely readers,

I know this blog is suppose to be easy and your just suppose to write about anything, but sometimes it is hard to come up with random things to talk about. So I will get started with telling you a little bit about myself. I have a older brother, Zach, that is a sophomore here at Virginia Tech and I have a little sister, Zoe, that is 8 and in the 3rd grade. My brother plays rugby here and it is actually his first year ever playing so I'm super excited to go to his games and cheer him on. I miss my family so much especial my little sister. It is the saddest thing talking to her on the phone and listening to her beg me to come home. I am a very family orientated person. They are the most important things in my life. My mom and brother are my best friends, which sounds weird but they are the ones that I would trust with anything in my life and I know they will always be there for me no matter what. I played volleyball all throughout high school and I plan on playing club or intramural here maybe next semester. Currently, I am on a co-ed flag football team which has been so much fun so far!! I think my hardest adjustment here at college is that there is so much to do and there is so many things I want to be apart of but I am so busy with my school work that I feel like I am missing out on fun college opportunities. I just need to work on my time management so I have enough time to do the things I want and the things I need to do. My roommate is amazing! Her name is Ali and we get along perfectly. We actually met on the Virginia Tech 2017 Facebook page, which was great because I wanted to room with somebody I didn't know but I didn't want to do 100% random... I was honestly scared I was going to get roomed with a crazy person. haha. I am a super outgoing person and I will talk to anybody, some people say that I have never met a stranger. I try to make friends with everybody because I honestly enjoy hearing where other people are from and their story. I love to be active and outside, so the horrible winters here is going to suck! I am from a pretty country home town it is a simple, small, and quiet town. Even though my graduation class was close to 600 people it is a town where everybody knows everybody, which I like. In high school I was the treasure of my graduation class and had to speak at graduation, which was the most nerve racking thing I have ever done. There was  8,000-10,000 people at graduation! Yeiks! Well enough out of me, I'm going to bed!

I hope you all have a great weekend!! :)

A little about me and the funniest part of my week

Hey!
I have never wrote a blog before so bare with me this could get bumpy. Ha! My name is Linsey Schiemann I am from southern Virginia in a small town called Franklin County, its almost on the border of North Carolina and Virginia. In high school I played volleyball and softball, but my softball career came to an end my sophomore year when I had to have back surgery. I had ruptured 2 disks in my lower back and had to have immediate surgery because they were worried that it had ruptured toward my spinal cord. Virginia Tech has been my number 1 choice for college since I can remember. My grandfather and a bunch of my uncles went to Virginia Tech so being a Hokie has been in our blood for awhile. I am studying Biology right now but I might change next year to HNFE or Human Development or I might minor in one of them... Honestly, I'm not 100% sure what I am doing at the moment but I will decide based on how this year goes.

In this blog I am going to tell you about the funniest thing that I have witnessed this week. So while I was on my way to the gym at McComas there was a flock of girls waking in front of me wearing yoga pants and tinny tiny shorts who was also on their way to they gym. Well, on the other side of the road on the sidewalk closest to Lane Stadium there was a hunky man riding a small penny board down the hill towards McComas. As he was weaving in and out of people trying to show off his skill to all the girls and he couldn't seem to unglue his eyes off their asses as he was flying down the hill. So he obviously wasn't paying attention to the cars coming out of Lane parking lot and slams into the side of a car and flies over the hood!! Shockingly, he bounces up and tries to play it off like it was nothing!!! Everybody that was outside hit the ground in laughter. Needless to say his penny board career is over and he didn't walk away with any of the big booty girls! It was absolutely hilarious!
